Your First Bun Bandit Heist: A Beginner Practice Guide
Learn the first useful loop on iPhone — read the burger order, collect in sequence, and survive to your third strike.
Quick answer
Bun Bandit turns every sprint into a recipe. Before you swipe fast, read the burger order at the top of the run: it tells you which ingredients to grab and in what sequence — buns, patties, cheese and toppings. This practice guide covers three short runs on iPhone. You need the native game from the App Store: free download with in-app purchases, requires iOS 18 or later. Later orders ask for bigger, repeated stacks, so the habit you build in the first 60 seconds matters more than speed.

Verified game facts
- The visible burger order lists the requested ingredient sequence, one pickup at a time; out-of-sequence pickups do not build the order.
- Screen-only iPhone controls cover lane changes, jumps and slides — small early swipes beat full-speed swiping before reading.
- Ramps climb and tunnels cut through, creating an alternate line through the same city; take one only when it keeps the requested sequence.
- Utensils can steal an ingredient and break the sequence, while chefs, managers and waiters can cost a strike; three strikes end the escape.
- Turbo, shield, magnet, score rush, sauce rush, ghost mode and combo lock change rhythm, but recipe completion and the three-strike limit decide the run.
- Each of the four city routes — Bunmarket After Dark, Amberworks District, Bunwood Reserve, Blackwater Docks — reads differently.
How to approach it
- Run 1 — Read, then move: start on Bunmarket After Dark if you can choose routes. Keep your eyes on the order, not the score. Collect only the next requested ingredient, change lanes early, and let other pickups pass. If a utensil takes an ingredient, keep building in sequence.
- Run 2 — Use ramps and tunnels with purpose: ramps climb, tunnels cut through, and both create an alternate line through the same city. Use them to stay aligned with the next ingredient, not for exploration. If the order line bends away from a ramp, skip the ramp.
- Run 3 — Respect the kitchen: utensils can steal an ingredient, and chefs, managers and waiters can stop the run. Give the kitchen crew space, especially in dense lanes, and do not chase a risky ingredient when you already have two strikes.
- Illustrative example — not a recorded run: the order shows bottom bun, then patty, then cheese, then top bun. You take the bottom bun, miss the patty to avoid a chef, skip a tunnel to stay central, then take patty, cheese and top bun in order. Slower, but finished.
- Common first-heist mistakes: grabbing everything instead of following the sequence; swiping at full speed before reading; treating every power-up as the goal; forgetting that ramps and tunnels change traffic and hazards.
- Your 60-second checklist: read the order, note the next two ingredients, swipe early and small, skip off-sequence pickups, take a ramp or tunnel only if it keeps the sequence, and back off at two strikes. When that feels calm, continue with How to Play, Burger Orders and Ingredient Sequences, Controls Ramps and Tunnels, and Kitchen Hazards and the Three-Strike Rule.
